State Valor Award was presented to driver Charles Anfield for safely evacuating students when the school bus he was driving caught fire.

TEXARKANA, TX, August 04, 2011 -- Vertical School Partners, a leading supplier of online training and information solutions reported today that its SafePUPIL school bus driver training solution was instrumental in avoiding a potentially deadly school bus mishap. Only days before the accident, SafePUPIL was effectively used to highlight bus evacuation procedures for both the bus driver and students.

Mr. Charles Anfield, a Jenkins County School system bus driver, was recently presented the State Valor Award by Grant Reppert, President of the Georgia Association for Pupil Transportation (GAPT). The award was presented at the GAPT banquet June 23rd. He was recognized for safely evacuating students when the school bus he was driving caught fire.

“As fall and the new school year fast approaches, it is time for every school district to evaluate their safety and in-service training,” said Jay Wommack, President and CEO, SafePupil, Vertical School Partners. “Proactively training both drivers and students with the SafePUPIL solution can help school districts safely manage many bus transportation issues.”

Mr. Anfield was also previously honored by the local system with Jenkins County School Superintendent Melissa Williams. She praised Anfield for his “calm demeanor and level- headed actions”, noting that what could have been a disastrous situation was safely averted.

SafePUPIL bus transportation solutions are used to easily deliver and efficiently communicate important procedures, policies, and training. It ensures better driver exposure to school district policies and important communications through constant, convenient online access, or easy to use DVD libraries (a special SafePUPIL DVD and laptop offer is now available for the upcoming school year).
