Phones and web site down at Florida schools

The problem is on the provider end of the system that runs the phone and Internet system in the Bay District Schools in Florida. The district is still researching how widespread the outages are.

BAY COUNTY, Florida (WMBB 13 Panama City) August 10, 2010 -- Phones at most Bay District Schools in Florida were out August 10, according to a spokesperson. The district's Web site was also down.

The problem is on the provider end of the system that runs the phone and Internet system in the schools. In addition, the district is still researching how widespread the outages are.

Anyone trying to reach an individual school or the district office is encouraged to continue trying and the district apologizes for the inconvenience. Schools wil open as scheduled August 11.
